Chin-Chin Chen
Chin-Chin Chen was born in Taipei, Taiwan, ROC. She holds a B.A. degree in
Social Work from Fu-Jen Catholic University and M.M. degrees in Piano
Performance and Music Theory from University of Illinois. She is currently
working on her D.M.A. in Composition at University of Illinois, where her
principal composition teachers have been Bill Brooks and John Melby. She has
worked in the Experimental Music Studios with Scott Wyatt and James
Beauchamp. In the EMS Workstation and Studio C, which are MIDI studios,
she has been working with FM and AM sound synthesis and designing
instruments. In Studios A and B, which are analog studios, she has been
working with concrete techniques and experimenting electronically generated
sound synthesis. Her Trio for flute, cello, and percussion was recently
presented at the Midwest Composers Symposium.
